‘Toy Story 5’ Final Trailer: The Toys Try To Compete With Screen Time And Smart Devices In Pixar’s Latest

Like the child at the center of Pixar’s Toy Story, the franchise has grown right alongside its audience over the last 30 years (!!!). Beginning with a film about new toys replacing the old, it eventually became about a child aging out of his toys altogether and then passing them on to a younger generation. And now, as toys are becoming obsolete, Toy Story 5 is about the introduction of modern technology to kids who no longer have the attention span for old school playthings.

Pixar has released the final trailer for Toy Story 5. Directed by Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kenna Harris, the latest chapter finds Jessie and Buzz dealing with the arrival of Lilypad, a tablet-like device that has stolen all of Bonnie’s attention away. Meanwhile, Woody is off on his own adventure to help other lost toys find new homes.

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Tony Hale, Keanu Reeves, Conan O’Brien, Ernie Hudson, and more familiar voices return. Past Lives star Greta Lee joins as the voice of Lilypad.

SYNOPSIS: The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” and this time it’s Toy meets Tech.
