‘Incognito’: Robert Rodriguez To Direct Jessica Alba And Michael Pena In Spy Thriller

Robert Rodriguez has a new film in the works, his first since he directed the poorly reviewed Hypnotic and Spy Kids: Armageddon in 2023. Incognito will star Jessica Alba and Michael Pena, with production expected to start in the fall.

Described as a “fast-moving thriller”, Incognito stars Alba and Pena as siblings Lena and Frank, who also happen to be covert agents. The film has a script by Juan Carlos Soto, writer on TV shows such as Heroes, Invasion, and Freakylinks. He also created the short-lived Mortal Kombat: Conquest series from the late ’90s.

Rodriguez will always be a key figure in cinema history for his early work, especially El Mariachi, which set an incredibly high bar for indie breakthroughs. He used that early success to direct bigger films, including Sin City, Desperado, and Alita: Battle Angel.

Alba was last seen in the 2024 action thriller, Trigger Warning. Pena recently starred in one of the year’s best reviewed films, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.
