Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II is expected to begin production in a couple of months, but there is still one major role yet to be filled. Christopher Dent, the alcoholic, abusive father of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face, has been offered to Brad Pitt and Stellan Skarsgard, but both declined. Now a report from Giant Freakin Robot says the villainous role has been offered to Daniel Craig.
Take this with a grain of salt, of course, but GFR did snag the news of Scarlett Johansson being cast as Gilda Dent ahead of everybody. And they say this comes from the same source.
Craig is said to have the offer now, but if he turns it down, Liam Neeson is next on the list. Interesting, since Neeson played Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.
Reeves has really stacked The Batman Part II with a powerhouse cast. Johansson, Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Keoghan, and Colin Farrell. Craig would only make it better.
The film will hit theaters on October 1st 2027.
