The Stranger Things series finale is a little over a day away. Will any of the Hawkins kids (and their parents) survive the final battle with Vecna? Who knows? But what we do know is that people will be watching. The first season pulled in an incredible 59.6 million viewers in the first five days, and over eight billion minutes viewed, according to Nielsen reports. Not only that, but movie theater showings of the final episode already has 1.1 million RSVPs with 3,500 screenings completely sold out. Damn!
Netflix, undoubtedly feeling pretty good about all of this, is hitting fans with a glimpse of the action a bit early in a new trailer. The footage shows Hopper (David Harbour) encouraging Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to get ready to fight “one last time” before flashing back to earlier encounters.
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Linda Hamilton, and Amybeth McNulty lead the cast. Who will make it through to the end??
SYNOPSIS: The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.
The Stranger Things finale airs on Netflix beginning December 31st.
