Milla Jojovich is one of the top female action stars in the world, so when we learn that she’s starring in another flick where she gets to kick a lot of butt, it’s not a shock. Such is the case with Protector, in which Jojovich plays a war veteran who has left her violent past behind, only to get drawn back into the fight when her daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers. It sounds like a movie that could’ve starred Jason Statham with just a few tweaks, but it’s good to see Jojovich back and doing what she does best.
SYNOPSIS: Nikki (Milla Jovovich), a veteran war hero, thought she’d left her violent past behind for a peaceful life with her daughter, Chloe – until Chloe is kidnapped by a human trafficking ring that forces Nikki into the city’s criminal underworld on a relentless pursuit. As she tears through a ruthless crime syndicate using her military training, Nikki draws the attention of both the police and the military, shooting her to the top of the most wanted list. In this high-stakes race against time, Nikki must use the violent skills she thought she left behind to save her daughter.
Joining Jojovich in the cast are Isabel Myers, Manny Montana, Michael Stahl-David, Lydia Hull, D.B. Sweeney, Chase E. Kim, Don Harvey, Gabriel Sloyer, Texas Battle, Arica Himmel, and Matthew Modine.
The film is directed by Adrian Grünberg, best known for directing Rambo: Last Blood and Get the Gringo. Seems to be in his wheelhouse.
Protector hits theaters on February 20th 2026 from Magenta Light Studios.
