Scarlett Johansson Eyes ‘The Batman Part II’ Role; Zoe Kravitz Unlikely To Return

With more than a decade under her belt as Black Widow, fighting to protect the world as part of Marvel’s Avengers, Scarlett Johansson is making the jump to DC Comics. Variety reports Johansson is in talks to join Robert Pattinson in The Batman Part II from director Matt Reeves.  Whoa.

So what’s her role? Details on Johansson’s character remain under wraps. However, the report states that Zoe Kravitz, who played Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the hit 2022 film, is unlikely to return. Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin have completed the screenplay, with shooting expected to begin next spring.

What are we thinking here? Poison Ivy? Harley Quinn?

It’s a busy time for Johansson, who has set herself up with a couple of big franchises recently. She starred in Jurassic World: Rebirth which earned $868M worldwide last summer. Johansson also attached herself to a new Exorcist movie from Mike Flanagan.  She also made her directorial debut with Eleanor the Great, and will next star in James Gray’s Paper Tiger.

The Batman Part II will open October 1st 2027.
