‘Shiver’: Keanu Reeves Teams With ‘Deadpool’ Director Tim Miller For New Sci-Fi Film

Remember Tim Miller? He directed the first Deadpool movie then ran into some ugly creative clashes with James Cameron while directing Terminator: Dark Fate, and was prevented from directing Deadpool 2 by Ryan Reynolds. Lately, Miller has been a producer on the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. But now he’s getting back behind the camera for Shiver, a sci-fi film starring Keanu Reeves.

Shiver has a script by Ian Shorr that is described as similar to the Tom Cruise timeloop flick, Edge of Tomorrow, and the Blake Lively shark thriller The Shallows. Matthew Vaughn, of the Kingsman and X-Men franchises, is a producer.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but the buzz is that it follows a shady “smuggler who finds himself in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea, resulting in him surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries and thirsty sharks alike. He next finds himself a deathly time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.”

Reeves can be seen in theaters right now in Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune. He also appeared as John Wick in Ballerina opposite Ana de Armas. Neither film has been a hit, but audiences still love watching Reeves fight his way out of trouble, and Shiver should deliver that. [THR]
