Ghostface is back….again. Scream 7 should’ve been in theaters more than a year ago, and if it had been, it would’ve looked very different. For instance, it would still have stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, not to mention director Christopher Landon who took over for the departing Radio Silence. The sequel got back on track by bringing back Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, and original Scream writer Kevin Williamson as director.
The new trailer for Scream 7 finds that Sidney has no shot at starting a new life in a new town, because Ghostface will always follow her. Only this time, the killer is stalking her daughter, played by Isabel May.
Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Ethan Embry, David Arquette, Joel McHale, Celeste O’Connor, Matthew Lillard, and McKenna Grace are also in the cast.
This feels like a return to the franchise’s roots, which is better than a total reboot, I suppose.
SYNOPSIS: When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Scream 7 hits theaters on February 27th 2026.
