‘Shelby Oaks’ Trailer: NEON Releases Chris Stuckmann’s Creepy Horror Debut In October

If you follow the movie reviews of YouTuber and film critic Chris Stuckmann, chances are you already know about his feature directorial debut, Shelby Oaks. He ran a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1M for the project. As for the rest of you who don’t know Stuckmann, the small-budgeted found footage horror might be something to take an interest in after you see the new trailer released today by NEON.

Shelby Oaks features a solid cast of veterans, including Camille Sullivan, Brendan Sexton III, Michael Beach, Robin Bartlett, Keith David, Charlie Talbert, Emily Bennett, and Sarah Durn.

Horror guru Mike Flanagan, of Doctor Sleep and The Life of Chuck fame, is an exec-producer, giving the film some serious cred.

Here’s the latest synopsis: A woman’s obsessive search for her missing sister leads her into a terrifying mystery at the hands of an unknown evil.

Film critics putting some actual skin in the game like this doesn’t happen too often, so you can bet a lot of eyes are going to be on it to see how Stuckmann does. So far, early reviews have been positive as it currently holds an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. It does make you wonder if critics will be harsher or more lenient?

NEON will release Shelby Oaks in theaters on October 24th.
