‘Greenland 2: Migration’ Trailer: Gerard Butler And Morena Baccarin Fight To Survive A Decimated World

If you’re asking yourself why Gerard Butler’s 2020 apocalyptic thriller Greenland warrants a sequel, well, it’s not that hard to figure out. The first film, directed by the sure-handed Ric Roman Waugh, was a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic, suffering multiple delayed releases. And while it didn’t perform all that great theatrically on a global level, on PVOD it went wild and more than turned a profit for STX Entertainment. Oh, and it’s also a damn good disaster flick. So yeah, bring on Greenland 2: Migration, once again led by Butler and Morena Baccarin.

Lionsgate has dropped the trailer for Greenland 2: Migration, which finds Butler and Baccarin’s characters forced to leave the safety of their bunker in the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated the planet.

The film is once again directed by Waugh, with a script co-written by original writer Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune.

Taking over as the family’s son is Jojo Rabbit and The Long Walk star Roman Griffin Davis. Also in the cast are Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie.

SYNOPSIS: In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the earth, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION follows the Garrity family (Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis) as they’re forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.

Greenland 2: Migration will hit theaters on January 9th 2026.
