If you grew up in the ’90s, it was tough to avoid hearing stories about the “Hollywood Madam”, Heidi Fleiss. While she was just in her 20s, Fleiss began running a prostitution ring that catered to the rich and famous, including Hollywood’s elite. It blew up in her face eventually, but her fame endured for a time. And now Fleiss is becoming the subject of a new biopic that will star Aubrey Plaza.
Deadline reports Plaza will produce and star in The Heidi Fleiss Story, about the Hollywood Madam. The film will center on the days leading up to Fleiss’ trial, after her prostitution empire came crashing down in 1993 when she was arrested, charged, and convicted on charges including pandering and tax evasion.
There’s some impressive talent joining Plaza on The Heidi Fleiss Story. The dark comedy will be directed by Leah Rachel, creator of the Netflix series Chambers, in her feature debut. Rachel Sennott, of Bottoms and Shiva Baby fame, co-wrote the screenplay with Rachel and Travis Jackson.
Plaza has been keeping busy. She starred in both My Old Ass and Megalopolis last year. She will be seen later this month in Ethan Coen’s comedy Honey Don’t!, and in 2026 with Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa in Animal Friends.
