Corin Hardy, the director behind The Hallow and The Nun, is rightfully regarded as one of our best horror filmmakers, although he did direct and showrun multiple episodes of the hit series, Gangs of London, too. Hardy, who almost directed a version of The Crow with Jason Momoa, is back to his favorite genre with Whistle, which deals with an ancient Aztec artifact that brings nothing but chaos.
Whistle features a tremendous cast led by Logan and Deadpool & Wolverine star Dafne Keen. She’s joined by Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief, Yellowjackets), Sky Yang, Jhaleil Swaby, Ali Skovbye, Percy Hynes White (My Old Ass), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones), and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead).
Hardy directs from a screenplay by Owen Edgerton.
SYNOPSIS: A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.
IFC Films and Shudder will release Whistle into theaters in 2026.
