When you’ve got a cast led by André Holland, Nicole Beharie, and DeWanda Wise, you don’t need to do much to impress. Rachael Abigail Holder’s Love, Brooklyn boasts that gorgeous, talented trio of actors in a story about a man navigating romance between two women who couldn’t be more different, a time when the Brooklyn that he loves is evolving into something new.
Love, Brooklyn has a screenplay by Paul Zimmerman, and was exec-produced and financed by Steven Soderbergh. Holland and Soderbergh have worked together multiple times, on the series The Knick and the acclaimed film High Flying Bird. Holland was recently at Sundance for Exhibiting Forgiveness, for which he also earned rave reviews and deservedly so. That movie is incredible.
Also in the cast are Roy Wood Jr., Cassandra Freeman, and Cadence Reese.
