Directed by Roar Uthaug and released by Netflix, the film quickly became a favorite for fans of the monster genre. Now Uthaug is back with the anticipated sequel, Troll 2, that will come stomping onto the streamer this December.
Troll 2 finds Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen reprising their roles as a new Troll begins wreaking havoc throughout Norway. To defeat it, they’ll need to find some new allies and delve deep into Norwegian mythology.
Espen Aukan returns to write the screenplay, leaning on the rich Norwegian lore that has become the franchise’s calling card.
Uthaug directed the Tomb Raider reboot with Alicia Vikander in 2018, but Troll is proving to be a greater success that will stick around for longer.
