The Marvel hero who can drink Daredevil and Luke Cage under the table is making her comeback. It’s official: Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season two. The announcement was made during Disney upfronts to investors, with Ritter joining Charlie Cox on the stage…
“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU,” Ritter said. “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”
Ritter becomes the third Marvel Netflix series star to make the jump to the MCU, following Cox and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Jessica Jones ran for three seasons on Netflix, concluding in 2019 as Marvel Television transitioned to Disney+.
Jones, based on the character from the Marvel Comics series Alias (one of my all-time favorite comics), is a hard-drinking detective with super-strength, durability, and severe PTSD.
It’s up in the air whether we’ll see the final two heroes, Iron Fist played by Finn Jones, and Luke Cage played by Mike Colter, also move to the MCU. It would make sense, though, especially in the case of Colter whose portrayal was pretty popular with fans, and he’s received strong reviews for his performances on the show Evil. Personally, I’d like to see Simone Missick and Jessica Henwick back as Misty Knight and Colleen Wing. Reform the Heroes for Hire.
Before the announcement, Cox was teasing some fun cameos with THR. Check that out below.
