You ever had one of those dreams that’s so powerful, so potent, that it affects you even when you’re awake? Henry Golding is about to have that experience taken to a different level in Daniela Forever, a new film from Colossal director Nacho Vigalondo.
Golding stars with The White Lotus actress Beatrice Grannò in the film about a man overcome with grief over the loss of his girlfriend. He takes part in a groundbreaking sleep study that simulates reality, in the slim hope of moving on. Instead, what he finds is memory, dreams, and reality beginning to blur and forcing him to confront whether he’s truly ready to let go.
The film is directed by Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo from his own screenplay. Vigalondo has impressed in the past with films such as Timecrimes, Open Windows, and most especially the Anne Hathaway sci-fi film Colossal. All of Vigalondo’s films have a distinct visual flair that separates him from a lot of other directors. He always manages to do a lot with the resources at his disposal.
Also in the cast are Aura Garrido, Rubén Ochandiano, & Nathalie Poza.
