It’s going to be a battle this year to see which film can terrorize audiences the most. Will it be Zach Cregger’s Weapons, which premiered a creepy trailer just days ago? Or will it be Bring Her Back, the new film from Talk to Me directors Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou?
Based on the new first-look teaser for Bring Her Back that A24 has debuted today? It could be a neck-and-neck race. Starring two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins, the new film promises to be something completely different from Talk to Me, a breakout hit for the duo back in 2022.
“We wanted to do something different from Talk to Me,” Michael Philippou explains in the new featurette. “It’s still a horror film, but it’s more psychological.”
Here’s the brief synopsis: A brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.
Joining Hawkins are Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Stephen Phillips, and Mischa Heywood. The screenplay was co-written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman.
