After seeing what she could do in a small role in No Time to Die, fans of Ana de Armas will see her with an entire action movie to herself in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. While the film is less than a month away, Lionsgate has dropped one more trailer that provides an even better look at the latest chapter in the epic John Wick franchise, which keeps getting better the more that’s added to it.
In Ballerina, Armas plays Eve, an elite killer with the Ruska Roma who seeks revenge on those who murdered her family. But vengeance comes at a cost, and it’ll bring Eve face-to-face with someone who has walked in her shoes and done it better than anybody ever has before.
We already know that Keanu Reeves has a role as John Wick, but what fans don’t know is how big of a part he plays. I’ll just say he’s crucial to Eve’s journey and nothing more. Also in the cast are familiar faces such as Anjelica Huston as The Director, Ian McShane as Winston, and the late Lance Reddick as Charon.
Also in the cast and new to John Wick are Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Gabriel Byrne.
Ballerina is directed by genre veteran Len Wiseman (watch out for my interview with him) from a script by Shay Hatten.
Synopsis: Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.
Tickets are on sale now for Ballerina, which opens on June 6th.
