Glen Powell And Judd Apatow Teaming For Country Music Comedy

With a long list of big projects coming up, it seems everyone wants to be in the Glen Powell business. Now, it’s Judd Apatow’s turn. THR reports Powell and Apatow will team for a comedy set within the country music industry.

Universal Pictures is behind the untitled film, which it is fast-tracking into theaters. Apatow will direct the film and co-write the screenplay with Powell. Both are also aboard as producers. The story centers on a country music star whose career is in free fall.

This will be Apatow’s first feature film since 2022’s The Bubble, which not many saw.

We know Powell is handy with the pen. He also co-wrote with Richard Linklater the action-comedy Hit Man, which was hilarious. Coming up for the actor is John Patton Ford’s Huntington alongside Margaret Qualley, and Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man. He also has the Chad Powers series over at Hulu, and Barry Jenkins’ newly announced The Natural Order.
