‘Shadow Force’ Trailer: Kerry Washington And Omar Sy Are Under Attack In Joe Carnahan’s Latest Action Flick

Four years is way too long between Joe Carnahan movies! Fortunately, the Boss Level and The Grey director is back with another action flick, Shadow Force, that stars Kerry Washington and Omar Sy as former special forces agents whose family is under threat by their old team. You’d think by now these shadowy government agencies would know never to target the families of their former agents. It never turns out well.

The film is directed by Carnahan, from a script he wrote with Leon Chills. Washington and Sy are Shadow Force agents who broke the rules by falling in love, and so they went underground to protect their son when the team comes hunting for them.

Also in the cast are Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mark Strong, Natalia Reyes, Jahleel Kamara, and rappers Method Man and Krondon. The film has Washington and Sterling K. Brown as producers.

This is right in my wheelhouse, as Carnahan movies tend to be. Plus, I really love to see this story, which is fairly familiar by genre standards, presented with two Black leads who are as amazing as Washington and Sy.

Synopsis: In SHADOW FORCE, Kyrah (Washington) and Isaac (Sy) were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war.

Lionsgate will release Shadow Force in theaters on May 2nd!
