David Leitch Has A Heist Action Flick In The Works For Amazon MGM

The Fall Guy looked like a sure-fire summer blockbuster last year, but that didn’t work out for some reason. It hasn’t slowed down director David Leitch, who THR reports has found his next project. Shocker, it’s an action flick and it’ll be for Amazon MGM Studios. No, it’s not the next James Bond movie…or is it?

No, it’s not, at least not by the sound of it. The untitled heist action film “centers on a group of savvy bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat-and-mouse game with police.”

The script is by Mark Bianculli and has been in the works for a decade. Leitch will also produce through his 87North banner, teaming up with Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment.

Leitch is best known for his work on Bullet Train, The Fall Guy, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and John Wick. A former stuntman, he has helped others in his field make the move to directing, such as Extraction director Sam Hargrave and Love Hurts filmmaker Jonathan Eusebio.

This is being eyed as Leitch’s next project, which could jeopardize a reunion with Brad Pitt for Ocean’s 14. It’ll be interesting to see if he reaches out to someone else he’s worked with in the past to lead this new project.
