Have you noticed a lot more movies about sticking it to the man? About economic inequality? Well, they aren’t just coming from South Korean directors like Bong Joon-ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Chang-dong, and Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. David Leitch has his own statement to make with How to Rob a Bank, which seeks to capitalize on the anger a lot of people are feeling as life gets increasingly unaffordable.
Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Anna Sawai, Rhenzy Feliz, Christian Slater, Pete Davidson, Tati Gabrielle, and John C. Reilly star in the heist flick about a team of social media influencers and bank robbers who broadcast their crimes to an eager audience, becoming celebrity sensations in the process. While they might be criming for a cause, it still puts them firmly on the FBI radar.
The film has a script by Mark Bianculli. Leitch is aboard as director as well as producer, and it’s hoped this one fares better than 2024’s surprising dud, The Fall Guy.
How to Rob a Bank hits theaters on November 13th from Amazon MGM Studios. This follows the previous release date of September 4th.
