‘Last Breath’ Trailer: Woody Harrelson And Simu Liu Mount A Deep Sea Rescue In True Survival Thriller

Who doesn’t love a good ticking-clock thriller? Especially one based on real events with real heroes and real stakes? That’s what to expect out of Last Breath, a new film from director Alex Parkinson and a feature remake of his 2019 documentary of the same name about a harrowing deep sea rescue in 2012.

Woody Harrelson, Finn Cole, and Simu Liu star in Last Breath, which chronicles the dangerous deep sea rescue of Chris Lemons when he became untethered while diving more than 100 meters under the North Sea. At that depth, Lemons was without light or heat and only limited breathable air in his backup tank.

Cole stars as Lemons, with Harrelson and Liu as his colleagues Duncan Allcock and David Yuasa. Cliff Curtis and Djimon Hounsou co-star.

Parkinson co-wrote and co-directed the original movie. He takes on the directing reins solo this time. He co-wrote the screenplay with Mitchell LaFortune and David Brooks.

Focus Features opens Last Breath in theaters on February 28th 2025.
