Andy Muschiett Says Batman Film ‘The Brave And The Bold’ Is Delayed, James Gunn Says Otherwise

James Gunn’s initial launch of DC Studios came with a lot of hype for future projects. Some of which we are already starting to see come to fruition, such as Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and more. But one seems to have hit a snag. The Brave and the Bold, a film about Batman and his son Damian Wayne, has seen very little confirmed progress since it was announced, and now director Andy Muschietti explains why.

Speaking with California Secreta, Muschietti says The Brave and the Bold has been delayed. That will give him time to film something else in the meantime…

“[‘The Brave and The Bold’] is a project that has been postponed a bit,” said Muschietti. “So there’s going to be one before it.

Muschietti was always something of a surprise choice to be part of Gunn’s new regime, following the disastrous response to The Flash both financially and critically. But Gunn was a champion of that failed effort and obviously likes Muschiett’s work. He’s an extremely talented director who scored massive hits with It: Chapter One and It: Chapter Two.

Then again, maybe there are some crossed wires here because Gunn says The Brave and the Bold has NOT been delayed at all.

So who knows what’s going on here. Gunn has made it clear that no DCU project moves forward without a completed and approved screenplay. Perhaps what Muschietti meant is that the script is taking longer to finish.

The Brave and the Bold centers on Batman’s attempts to raise and train his son Damian Wayne, who happens to be the daughter of Talia al Ghul and the grandson of villain Ra’s al Ghul. Damian’s also an elite assassin and something of a psychopath, which makes raising him a problem. Eventually, Damian becomes the fifth person to become Robin.
