Gerard Butler returns as “Big Nick” O’Brien in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, the sequel to 2018’s surprise hit, Den of Thieves. Once again written and directed by Christian Gudegast the film takes the action from Los Angeles to Europe, where Nick is once again on the streets in pursuit of a familiar face who escaped capture after a bank robbery gone wrong.
Joining Butler in the cast is O’Shea Jackson Jr. who returns as Donnie Wilson, a member of the heist crew who avoided capture at the end of the first movie. Jordan Bridges, Swen Temmel, and Evin Ahmad co-star.
Den of Thieves is just one of many action franchises that Butler is at the center of. He also has the Has Fallen series which has him attached to a fourth chapter titled Night Has Fallen. He also has Greenland: Migration, a sequel to apocalyptic thriller Greenland. Butler will also be seen in Dreamworks’ live-action reboot How to Train Your Dragon, reprising his role as Stoick the Vast.
Lionsgate opens Den of Thieves 2: Pantera in theaters on January 10th 2025.
