‘Run Sweetheart Run’ Trailer: Shana Feste’s Date Night Horror Finally Hits Prime Video This Month

Debuting at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, Shana Feste’s date night horror Run Sweetheart Run was acquired by Amazon a few months later. But it’s taken more than two years for the film to finally get a debut date, and what better time than this Halloween?

Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels) stars as single mom Cherie, who agrees to meet Ethan, played by Game of Thrones‘ Pilou Asbaek, an important business client. Their night goes extremely well, but when the two are alone, Ethan’s true violent nature emerges.

The film also stars Shohreh Aghashloo, Clark Gregg, Dayo Okeniyi, and Betsy Brandt.

Feste is best known for directing Country Strong, and 2018’s road trip drama Boundaries.

Blumhouse is also behind this one, continuing the Prime Video relationship that has included their Welcome to the Blumhouse horror anthology. Doesn’t look like we’re getting one of those this Halloween, but this looks like a pretty good replacement.

Run Sweetheart Run hits Prime Video on October 28th.

Initially apprehensive when her boss insists she meet with one of his most important clients, single mom Cherie is relieved and excited when she meets charismatic Ethan. The influential businessman defies expectations and sweeps Cherie off her feet. But at the end of the night, when the two are alone together, he reveals his true, violent nature. Battered and terrified, she flees for her life, beginning a relentless game of cat-and-mouse with a bloodthirsty assailant hell-bent on her utter destruction. In this edge-of-your-seat dark thriller, Cherie finds herself in the crosshairs of a conspiracy stranger and more evil than she could have ever imagined.
