‘Dream Productions’ Trailer: Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ Spinoff Series Hits Disney+ In December

It was obvious that Inside Out 2 would be a big one for Pixar, but could anyone have predicted just how big? The sequel wrapped up with nearly $1.7B, becoming the highest-grossing animated movie EVER and the 8th-largest movie of all time. Insane. And naturally, Disney/Pixar want to expand the franchise to Disney+ with the spinoff series, Dream Productions.

Done in the single-camera mockumentary style of The Office and similar comedies, Dream Productions takes place in the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true thanks to acclaimed Dream Director Paula Persimmon, voiced by Paul Pella who reprises the role from Inside Out.

Also in the voice cast are Richard Ayoade, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ally Maki, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith. Mike Jones directs all four episodes, with Nami Melumad composing the score.

Disney+ debuts Dream Productions on December 11th.

SYNOPSIS: Taking place in between the events of “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2” is Pixar Animation Studios’ “Dream Productions,” an all-new series about the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget.
