‘Babygirl’ Trailer: Nicole Kidman Gets Steamy With Harris Dickinson In A24’s Workplace Erotic Thriller

Erotic thrillers and corporate power dynamics have been explored on the big screen plenty of times before. In the ’80s and early ’90s they happened all of the time, and recently seen again in Netflix’s terrific thriller Fair Play. But in the new film Babygirl, the illicit relationship is given another spin as Nicole Kidman’s CEO character is involved with a much younger man.

As seen in the trailer, Kidman’s CEO embarks on a forbidden romance with a young intern played by The Iron Claw‘s Harris Dickinson. He seems to be pretty aggressive in his pursuit of her, which is definitely a twist not having the empowered female use her position recklessly. It looks like the onus will be on the younger male.

This is the third film directed by Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn following Instinct and Bodies Bodies Bodies. All three have been with A24, who clearly are fans of her work.

Also in the cast are Talk to Me breakout Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas. The film was written and directed by Reijn. It made a splash at Venice, earning rave reviews and the Best Actress award for Kidman.

SYNOPSIS: This cinematic work explores the complexities of power dynamics and sexuality within a professional setting as it revolves around a high-ranking CEO who embarks on a forbidden romance with a captivating intern who is significantly younger.

A24 will release Babygirl in theaters on December 20th.
