Box Office: ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Is Still The Ghost With The Most As New Releases Struggles

  1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice– $51.6M/$188M

The ghost with the most is raking in the most dough for the second week in a row. Falling just 53% from last week, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice earned $51M and now has $188M domestically, beating out a handful of starry new releases. Worldwide it has $264M, a great deal more than the original’s $74M run.

2. Speak No Evil (review)- $11.5M

Speak No Evil didn’t have much to say in its debut weekend. Another Blumhouse disappointment this year as the thriller remake opened with just $11.5M. That’s despite rave reviews for James McAvoy’s terrifying performance, and positive consensus by critics and audiences. So what went wrong? It’s tough to say. Maybe people who saw the 2022 Danish film are still traumatized by it?

3. Deadpool & Wolverine– $5.2M/$621.4M

4. Am I Racist?– $4.75M

Considering this anti-DEI propaganda film was put out by The Daily Wire, the answer to the titular question is probably “yes.”

5. Reagan– $2.9M/$23.3M

6. The Killer’s Game (review)- $2.6M

I continue to be concerned about the future of major studio action movies like The Killer’s Game, after the Dave Bautista-led action comedy opened with just $2.6M. That’s less than the third week of Reagan, for chrissakes! It goes to show that Bautista, despite being a popular part of some hit franchises, is yet to be a bankable star on his own.

7. Alien: Romulus– $2.4M/$101.2M

Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus passed the $100M domestic milestone, hitting $101M after five weeks. Even better, the film now has $330M worldwide and looks poised to be the launch of a new series of Alien films.

8. It Ends With Us– $2.02M/$144.8M

9. The Forge– $2M/$24.1M

10. God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust– $1.4/$1.8M
