We’re only a couple of weeks away from the release of the Christmas-themed Terrifier 3, and already creator Damien Leone has brought a gift to Art the Clown fans. Immediately following the Fantastic Fest world premiere of the film, Leone confirmed in a Q&A that Terrifier 4 is already in the works. Art the Clown is coming back for more.
“I love that you’re still thinking about the next one after [watching all] that. So — yes, there will be a Terrifier 4″, Leone told a fan who asked about future plans.
Of course, there were no details since Terrifier 3 hasn’t even reached its October 11th release date. And if it’s like the previous films, it’ll be out there for a while as a midnight favorite for genre lovers. Terrifier 2 was an unexpected smash hit, earning $15M and drawing audiences to the original, which Leone released in 2016.
Played by David Howard Thornton, Art the Clown has become a grisly new slasher icon. The Terrifier films are known for their extreme gore and inventive displays of carnage, with Leone always looking to up the ante.
Here is the synopsis: In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve. [Polygon]
