‘Get Away’ Trailer: Nick Frost Writes And Stars In This Vacation Slasher Comedy

If you’re a Nick Frost fan, and let’s face it, most of us love him from his many comedies with Simon Pegg, then this is a great time. Not only does Frost have the insane horror-comedy Krazy House coming up this week, but in a couple of months he’ll be getting laughs as part of another family put through a deadly wringer in Get Away.

This one looks like a lot of fun, too. Think of it as a comedic take on cult thrillers such as The Wicker Man and Midsommar, and you’ve got the idea. Should be a blast for the Midnight crowd.

SYNOPSIS: A family’s vacation to a remote getaway takes an unexpected turn when they discover the island they’re on is inhabited by a serial killer.

Originally titled Svalta (when Lena Headey was attached), the slasher comedy stars Frost along with Aisling Bea, Sebastian Croft, Maisie Ayres, and Eero Miloniff. Frost also wrote the screenplay, and reteams with Steffen Haars, one-half of the directing duo behind Krazy House. That scares me a bit, given my feelings on that film (which I saw at Sundance), but Get Away already looks a lot more enjoyable.

IFC Films releases Get Away in theaters December 6th, followed by Shudder in 2025.
