‘And Mrs’ Trailer: A Little Thing Like Death Won’t Stop A Woman’s Wedding In New Comedy

You’ve probably seen one or two (thousand) rom-coms where someone is trying to stop a wedding from happening, or someone gets left at the altar to the shock of everyone. Weddings get ruined in the movies all of the time. Well, for a different look at the happy event there’s And Mrs, which follows a bride-to-be who is so determined to make her wedding happen, that she doesn’t let the groom’s death stop it.

And Mrs. stars Aisling Bea, Colin Hanks, and Billie Lourd, and centers on a London woman who is on the verge of marrying the love of her life. But days away before the happy day, her fiancé dies suddenly. Rather than calling things off, she decides that the best way to get over grief is to go through with the wedding.

The film is directed by TV and video vet Daniel Reisinger. Also in the cast are Susan Wokoma, Harriet Walter, Paul Kaye, and Downton Abbey‘s Elizabeth McGovern.

SYNOPSIS: A hilarious and heartfelt comedy drama about Gemma, a woman living in London whose American fiancé, Nathan, dies shortly before their wedding day. Never a true believer in modern marriage, Nathan’s death makes Gemma re-evaluate the promise of a life spent together. When, with some encouragement from Nathan’s chaotic and unconventional sister, Audrey, she decides to go ahead with the wedding anyway, she has to overcome public opinion, the law of the land and even her own family’s objections for the right to finally say “I do”.

And Mrs opens on September 2nd.
