‘Krazy House’ Trailer: Nick Frost And Alicia Silverstone Star As Sitcom Parents In This Batsh*t Horror-Comedy

Good lawd, I had forgotten about Krazy House. You see a lot of weird, experimental stuff at Sundance. Some of it is great, some of it…well, not so much. Krazy House definitely fell in the latter category for me, but the sheer levels of insanity and the intriguing cast of fan favorites, are sure to be a draw for genre fans.

Nick Frost and Alicia Silverstone star as parents in a 90s-style single-camera sitcom. Y’know the type; Frost is the dorky, overweight dad punching well above his weight with his gorgeous, brilliant, hard-working wife. Their two teenage kids, played by Gaite Jansen and Walt Klink, get in the kind of easily solvable trouble you expect from a family-comedy.

Things go way off the rails when Russian workers come to their house to do some construction and start tearing everything apart. Not only that, but they begin driving the family to do worse and worse things, driving dear ol’ Dad insane in the process.

Did I mention that Kevin Connolly of Entourage and Unhappily Ever After fame plays Jesus? How Krazy is that!?

The film was written and directed by Dutch duo Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil.

So yeah, I didn’t like this one. In my review I called Krazy House “empty shocks and lame payoffs” and that it was a miracle it made it to such a prestigious festival as Sundance.

Krazy House opens on October 4th.
