‘Salem’s Lot’ Photos Reveal Stephen King Adaptation Hitting Max In October

SALEM'S LOT

Stephen King adaptations are more popular than ever, and the success of one seems to roll over into the next. One that King fans have been eagerly awaiting is the MAX horror film, Salem’s Lot, and finally today we have our first look courtesy of Vanity Fair.

Directed by Gary Dauberman of the Annabelle movies, Salem’s Lot is set in the 1970s and stars Lewis Pullman as a writer who returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot for some inspiration. What he discovers is that the place is being terrorized by a vampire, and sets out with a ragtag bunch to defeat it.

Dauberman got the job based on his work adapting Stephen King’s IT into two highly successful films in 2017 and 2019.

Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk, William Sadler, Alfre Woodard, and John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan, a recurring character in the King novels.

“You could do a very dry version of this movie, but that’s just not my personality,” Dauberman explained. “It’s trying to ride that wave’s ups and downs. You’re having fun with it, and then you can have a scare, and then you’re having fun again. Hopefully it feels like a complete ride at the end.”
