‘Omni Loop’ Trailer: Time Travel Comedy Stars Mary Louise-Parker And Ayo Edebiri

Screwing around with time isn’t always a bad thing. Like, say you had a black hole growing in your chest. You could use a time loop to go back and fix the problem. That’s the premise behind Omni Loop, a sci-fi comedy starring Mary-Louise Parker and The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri.

Parker stars as a quantum physicist with a black hole growing in her chest who gets stuck in a time loop reliving the last five days before her death. She decides to use that time, joined by a brilliant student, to figure out how to save her own life.

The film is written and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Bernardo Britto. He previously directed Jacqueline Argentine in 2016. Hannah Pearl Utt, Chris Witaske, Carlos Jacott, Harris Yulin, Steven Maier, and Eddie Cahill co-star.

It’s good to see Louise-Parker back on the big screen. The Fried Green Tomatoes actress was seen earlier this year in Netflix’s Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp.

The Groundhog Day formula is popular for a reason. You can have a lot of fun with the idea of reliving a moment in time, but it looks as if Omni Loop will try to be lighthearted and touching, similar to Palm Springs.

Omni Loop hits theaters and VOD on September 20th.
