‘Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft’ Teaser Reveals Best Look Yet At Netflix’s Animated Sequel Series

First announced four years ago, with the first teaser arriving nearly a year ago, Netflix’s animated Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is finally near. Agent Carter and Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning star Hayley Atwell voices Croft, one of the most iconic video game characters, in a series that is a direct sequel to the most recent game, 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the story, but it will bridge the gap between the reboot trilogy and the original series of games. But based on the footage presented in this new teaser, it looks like a fun, swashbuckling adventure that casual audiences can jump into.

The series was developed by showrunner Tasha Huo, best known for Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin. Legendary Entertainment and Crystal Dynamics are co-producing, with Powerhouse Animation Studios providing the animation.

We could be looking at a Lara Croft revival as Phoebe Waller-Bridge has a completely separate live-action series in the works at Prime Video. Alicia Vikaner played Croft in a 2018 reboot that won’t receive a sequel, while Angelina Jolie led two Tomb Raider films in 2001 and 2003.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft premieres on October 10th on Netflix.
