‘Tomb Raider’ Animated Series To Feature Hayley Atwell As Lara Croft

The Tomb Raider franchise keeps on clinging to life like Lara Croft from a cliff edge. While Alicia Vikander continues to play the iconic video game character in an upcoming live-action sequel, having taken over the role from Angelina Jolie, Netflix is keeping things going in animated form with Hayley Atwell in the lead role.

Variety reports Hayley Atwell will voice Lara Croft in a Tomb Raider animated series. The show will feature Croft in a new adventure picking up from events in the most recent video game trilogy. Legendary is producing this one.

Atwell is best known for her role as Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which she recently returned to in the series What If…?  She’ll also be seen doing what she does best, kicking ass, in Mission: Impossible 7. The casting of Atwell in the role of Croft would be just as perfect on the big screen, if you ask me, so yeah, this is pretty much perfect.
