‘Paddington In Peru’ Trailer: Everyone’s Favorite Bear Is Up The River In New Trailer For His “Greatest Adventure”

Do you have a friend who doesn’t enjoy the Paddington movies? It might be a good idea to rethink that relationship because Paddington is pure, unadulterated joy and happiness. The first two films are among the most beloved ever, but questions surrounding next year’s Paddington in Peru mixes up the creative formula.

Ben Whishaw returns as the voice of Paddington, who loves his marmalade sandwiches almost as much as he loves the Brown Family. In the newly released teaser, we see Paddington swept up in a new adventure in Peru when he decides to return home for a family visit.

Also in the cast are Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Carla Tous, and Jim Broadbent.

So what’s different this time? Dougal Wilson takes over as director, following two masterful efforts by Paul King. Following a career mostly in videos and commercials, Wilson will be making his feature film debut and he’s got big shoes to fill.

And am I crazy, or does this trailer go out of its way not to show the movie’s title? Even the trailer is titled simply “Paddington”. Perhaps a title change is coming?

SYNOPSIS: PADDINGTON IN PERU brings Paddington’s story to Peru as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.

Paddington in Peru opens in U.S. theaters on January 17th 2025 via Sony Pictures.
