Colin Firth To Reunite With Emily Blunt In Steven Spielberg’s Next Film

There’s still a lot that we don’t know about Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film, expected to arrive in May 2026. But we do know who two of the stars will be. With Emily Blunt already aboard, Deadline reports that Oscar winner Colin Firth is in talks to join her.

Firth would be joining Spielberg’s untitled film, previously described as a “blockbuster”. The Amblin and Universal Pictures feature will have a script by David Koepp, who Spielberg has worked with on War of the Worlds and Jurassic Park. There is reportedly a UFO component to the story, which would make sense given Koepp and Spielberg’s backgrounds.

This will be the third time Firth and Blunt have worked together. The first was in 2012’s Arthur Newman, and then six years later in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns. Firth received an Emmy last year for his performance in The Staircase. His lead role in The King’s Speech earned him an Oscar for Best Actor in 2012.

Coming up for Firth are two limited series; Lockerbie streaming on Peacock, and Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock series on Prime Video. This will be Firth’s first time working with Spielberg.
