‘Longlegs’ Trailer: Nicolas Cage Is A Serial Killer Hunted By Maika Monroe In Oz Perkins’ New Thriller

Talk about expert marketing; NEON has done a bang-up job on the promotion for Longlegs. The buzz surrounding the serial killer film has been building for months, and that’s with very few people having actually seen any footage from it. Also, star Nicolas Cage, who plays said killer in the film, has been kept at a distance. The result is comparisons to The Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, Zodiac, and more, which is pretty good company to be in.

Joining Cage in Longlegs is It Follows star Maika Monroe as a young FBI agent on the trail of a killer with a long track record and a personal connection to her. In the final trailer released yesterday, we barely see Cage’s character but we do hear him and feel his presence.

The film also stars Alicia Witt, Kiernan Shipka, and Blair Underwood who as Agent Carter says…

“We have 10 letters, written by the same hand. 10 houses, 10 families, over the past 30 years. And all of them signed with one word: LONGLEGS.”

Writer/director Oz Perkins is best known for Greta & HanselI am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House, and The Blackcoat’s Daughter. Perkins already has a solid rep with horror fans, but Longlegs could make him a superstar when it arrives on July 12th.
