A Quiet Place: Day One arrives in just three days, and for some reason, Paramount believes that it needs just one more trailer. As if this is a franchise that is aching for eyeballs or something, and not one with two highly successful horror hits to its credit. To me, it suggests a lack of confidence in the film, but we’ll find out soon enough.
A prequel taking us back to the alien invasion that turned the world silent, the film stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou who reprises his role from A Quiet Place Part II as the Man on the Island, before he ever got to said island.
The film is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, known for the acclaimed drama Pig. He developed the story with John Krasinski, who directed the first two films and is the shepherd of this franchise. A third and film featuring the original characters is also coming in 2025, once again directed by Krasinski. Combined the two previous movies have earned $638M so there’s reason to find new ways to keeping it alive.
A Quiet Place: Day One opens in theaters on June 28th.
