Sam Raimi Says He Hasn’t Been Asked To Direct ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Or ‘Spider-Man 4’

Ever since he directed Doctor Strange & the Multiverse of Madness, Sam Raimi’s name has been linked to another Marvel project. Avengers: Secret Wars continues to have no director, but Raimi has been a popular wish list pick for fans. However, Raimi insists that Marvel has never asked him, although he would be open to it.

Raimi told ScreenGeek while promoting his upcoming film Boy Kills World, which he’s a producer on…

“I love 90% of the Marvel heroes that I’ve read in the great Stan Lee Marvel Universe comic books. I would love to work with Marvel again. They haven’t reasonably asked me to. I hope they had a good experience with me. They haven’t asked me yet. I hope they do.”

Raimi also shot down rumors that he’s working on a Spider-Man 4, saying “Well, I haven’t heard about that yet” when asked.

He added, “I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current Spider-Man [movies], and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, ‘Well, folks, we can also tell that story!'”

Sounds like Raimi is more than open to working with Marvel again. All they have to do is ask and make a proper offer.
