‘House Of The Dragon’ Dueling Season Two Trailers Promise Blood And Fire

The first season of House of the Dragon was an important test case for HBO. Following Game of Thrones‘ disastrous final season that fans hated, it was a real question whether anyone wanted more. Obviously, given the show’s initial success, they have not given up on George R.R. Martin in the least. The question is whether that momentum carries into season two?

Picking up where the first season left off, the lingering question is who will claim the throne following King Viserys’ death. Princess Rhaenyra fights to become the first queen to rule the Seven Kingdoms, but she faces opposition from her former friend, Queen Alicent, and her uncle Otto Hightower, who push for Aegon II to rule.

Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, and Matt Smith lead the cast along with Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham, Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor,  Vincent Regan, Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, and Simom Russell. Absolutely huge ensemble.

Check out the dueling trailers for House of the Dragon below! The series returns to HBO on June 16th.
