‘Reality’ Teaser: Sydney Sweeney Is Reality Winner In HBO’s Whistleblower Drama

With stories about leaked documents and the mishandling of classified information in the news seemingly every day, the timing of HBO’s new drama Reality couldn’t be better. The film stars Euphoria and The White Lotus breakout Sydney Sweeney as whistleblower Reality Winner, the former US Air Force officer and NSA translator who leaked a single-page document proving Russia’s interference in the 2016 Presidential election to aid Donald Trump.

Sweeney is joined in the film by Marchánt Davis and Josh Hamilton. Reality is directed and co-written by Tina Satter, adapting her own stageplay Is This A Room.

Here’s the synopsis: On June 3, 2017, 25-year-old former American intelligence specialist Reality Winner is confronted by FBI agents arriving at her home to question her suspected role in the mishandling of classified information. Based on true events, the film’s dialogue is directly from the transcript of their tense and transfixing conversation.

HBO and HBO Max will debut Reality on May 29th.
