‘Wind River’ Sequel Adds Jason Clarke, Scott Eastwood, And Chaske Spencer

Taylor Sheridan may have Paramount+ on lockdown with his Yellowstone universe, Tulsa King, and multiple other projects, but he’s also quite accomplished on the big screen. While he’s mainly known as a writer, he has been at the helm of three features, one of them being 2017’s Native American crime thriller, Wind River, led by his Mayor of Kingstown star, Jeremy Renner. Last year, we learned of an unexpected sequel, Wind River: The Next Chapter, that Sheridan has nothing to do with but has now added some star power to its cast.

Jason Clarke (The Great Gatsby), Scott Eastwood (The Outpost), and Chaske Spencer (The English) have joined the Wind River 2 cast. They join the returning Martin Senmeier as Chip Hanson, who in the previous film was a drug addict and son to Gil Birmingham’s tribal leader. In this film, Chip is reformed and works as a government tracker, helping to find those responsible for a series of ritualistic murders on the reservation.

Behind the camera is Falcon and the Winter Soldier director Kari Skogland, working from a script by Lara Croft: Tomb Raider duo of Patrick Massett and John Zinman.

Shooting on Wind River: The Next Chapter is underway now in Calgary.
