Who would’ve thought the most enduring franchise for both Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendric would be…Trolls? Following 2020’s Trolls World Tour, a film that helped usher in the streaming release model at the start of the pandemic, the third chapter in the animated musical franchise is Trolls Band Together, opening this November.
The pint-sized, glitter and music-obsessed Trolls are back, and as usual, they are bringing a wealth of surprises. Timberlake and Kendrick return as lifelong friends Branch and Poppy, who have finally stopped dance-flirting and become a real couple. But what Poppy learns is that Branch has a secret boy band past that he’s been trying to keep secret.
Expanding on already-robust ensemble are Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells, RuPaul, Zosia Mamet, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Icona Pop duo Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, Anderson .Paak, Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar and Kenan Thompson.
Walt Dohrn has been part of the Trolls franchise since the beginning and returns as director.
I won’t lie, as much as I hate myself for it these movies are charming as Hell and I enjoy them.
Trolls Band Together opens on November 17th.
