Final ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ Sets Chris Pine On A Hilarious Adventure

Does it look as if Paramount is going all-in on Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves? Yeah, it’s because they are. I think when the buzz coming out of first footage shown at Comic-Con was overwhelmingly positive, they decided to be unafraid of a repeat of the 2000 debacle. And now, with reviews raving out of SXSW and a release just a few days away, one last trailer has hit to keep the anticipation high.

Without going too deep into my own review which will available next week, Paramount has reason to be optimistic. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine as a bard leading a misfit group of thieves on an epic quest to thwart evil. Joining Pine’s character on this journey are Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, and Sophia Lillis, along with Daisy Head and Chloe Coleman.

What separates this D&D from the previous attempt to adapt the hit tabletop game? The comedy. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Game Night duo of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley don’t shy away from making this as much of a comedy as an adventure. When you’re dealing with a world of magical creatures, fierce warriors, rogues, and more, there’s plenty of opportunity for laughs.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens on March 29th.

A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.
