‘Thunderbolts’: Steven Yeun The Latest To Join Marvel’s Team Of Antiheroes

Following on the heels of his former The Walking Dead co-star Danai Gurira, Steven Yeun is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The Nope actor is the latest to join the cast of Marvel’s Thunderbolts, taking on what Deadline calls a “significant” role that will extend beyond just this film.

That’s pretty intriguing, but then you don’t get an actor like Yeun just for one small role. While details on the story are unknown, we know it’ll follow a team of ex-villains and antiheroes that have been introduced in previous films or TV shows. The film stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. The Bear star Ayo Edibiri also has an unknown role, while Harrison Ford is expected to appear as General Thunderbolt Ross.

That leaves the question of Yeun’s role, and who he could be playing that demands multiple appearances. Hmmmm…

Thunderbolts opens July 26th 2024, directed by Paper Towns filmmaker Jake Schreier from a script by Black Widow writer Eric Pearson.
