‘Nobody Nothing Nowhere’: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Octavia Spencer, & Lucy Liu To Star In High-Concept Comedy

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, fresh off the world premiere of Flora and Son at Sundance, will be joining Octavia Spencer and Lucy Liu in the high-concept comedy Nobody Nothing Nowhere. The film will be written and directed by Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer, having emerged from the 2018 Black List.

The story centers on “Ruth, one of the Non-People, human-looking beings designed and trained for the sole purpose of filling in a realistic world for a bland guy named Dave, the only person that actually exists on Earth. Tired of serving as an extra in someone else’s life, Ruth is ready to demand a life of her own.”

Kinda sounds like the sci-fi version of Free Guy. Or more accurately, like the 2020 sci-fi comedy Save Yourselves!, in which Fischer was a co-writer.

Gordon-Levitt can be seen in the first season of Rian Johnson’s hit series Poker Face. Liu has a villainous role coming up in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, while the third season of Spencer’s Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told launched last month. [Deadline]
