Remember Quibi? It’s okay if you don’t. The short-lived streaming service offered bite-sized episodes of its programming for easier viewing on mobile platforms. While the service went belly-up, much of its content found its way elsewhere. Such is the case with the Kevin Hart comedy series, Die Hart, which was scooped up by Amazon.
Amazon has taken the Die Hart series and had it recut into a movie starring Hart and John Travolta. Playing off the silly title, the film finds Hart attempting to break his reputation as a comedy actor and become respected as an action star. To do it, he attends “action hero school” run by Travolta’s character, Ron Wilcox.
Sticking with the action-comedy vibe, the film has a script by John Wick and Nobody writer Derek Kolstad, but behind the camera is Brooklyn Nine-Nine director Eric Appel.
Also starring Nathalie Emmanuel, Jean Reno, and Josh Hartnett, Die Hart hits Prime Video on February 24th.
